30 Days From Today

Calculate a date thirty days ahead, then check why a calendar month can end on a different day.

To find 30 days from today, add thirty calendar days without counting today itself. The calculator starts with that exact task and returns a date you can copy. One calendar month is a different instruction: it follows month boundaries rather than always adding thirty days.

Add 30 calendar days, with today as day zero. Weekends and holidays count toward the date unless you explicitly choose weekday counting.

Use the Calculator
The input starts at 30 days. Keep Direction on From Today to move forward, or select Before Today to move backward.
Worked Example: September 6 to October 6, 2026
Use September 6, 2026 as a fixed starting date for this example.
Thirty Days Is Not Always One Month
Adding thirty days and adding one month sometimes agree, but not always.
Weekday Counts Inside a Thirty-Day Window
Every complete seven-day block contains five Monday-to-Friday dates and two weekend dates.
Avoid Off-by-One Dates and Moving Targets
If today is day one of a thirty-date period, the final included date is only twenty-nine days away.

For a real milestone, save the resulting date rather than just the interval length.

Use the Calculator

The input starts at 30 days. Keep Direction on From Today to move forward, or select Before Today to move backward. The result names the target date and weekday, shows an ISO date in year-month-day order, and identifies the starting date and time zone. Copy Date saves those details together.

Keep Workdays off for the calendar-date answer. Turning it on advances until the requested number of Monday-to-Friday dates has been counted, which usually gives a later date. The weekday total in the result card is a count of dates, not a prediction of available working capacity.

The server initially calculates using the displayed UTC date. Once the browser loads, the tool uses your device’s local date and time zone, checking again while the page remains open. Near midnight, these can differ by a day. Read the displayed starting date before comparing the answer with a colleague elsewhere.

Worked Example: September 6 to October 6, 2026

Use September 6, 2026 as a fixed starting date for this example. Thirty added days ends on October 6, 2026. These dates explain the method; they are not a permanently correct answer for every visitor. The live result above uses the starting date shown in its card.

Step 1: Count the remaining dates after September 6. September has thirty days, so September 7 through September 30 contributes twenty-four dates. The starting day is excluded because it is day zero of an addition.

Step 2: Subtract the completed portion from the requested interval: 30 − 24 = 6. The next six dates are October 1 through October 6. This makes twenty-four September dates plus six October dates, for a total of thirty.

Step 3: Check the weekday. Thirty days equals four full weeks and two extra days. September 6 is a Sunday; moving forward four weeks reaches another Sunday, and two more dates reaches Tuesday. October 6, 2026 is a Tuesday, matching the calendar calculation.

Thirty Days Is Not Always One Month

Adding thirty days and adding one month sometimes agree, but not always. The table compares fixed starting dates where the next month has a matching day number. It avoids end-of-month cases where calendar applications may use different rules for a missing date such as February 31.

Fixed examples comparing a thirty-day interval with one calendar month.
Starting date Add 30 calendar days Add one calendar month
January 1, 2026 January 31, 2026 February 1, 2026
February 1, 2026 March 3, 2026 March 1, 2026
February 1, 2028 March 2, 2028 March 1, 2028
April 1, 2026 May 1, 2026 May 1, 2026
September 6, 2026 October 6, 2026 October 6, 2026

Notice how February changes the difference. A common-year February contributes twenty-eight days, while a leap-year February contributes twenty-nine. A fixed thirty-day calculation includes whichever dates are actually present. It does not use a special thirty-day version of February.

For a recurring monthly reminder, retaining a day number may be the intended behavior. For a task that explicitly says thirty calendar days, use day addition instead. Do not replace the original instruction just because a monthly calendar view looks easier to scan.

Weekday Counts Inside a Thirty-Day Window

Every complete seven-day block contains five Monday-to-Friday dates and two weekend dates. Thirty days contains four such blocks, supplying twenty weekdays and eight weekend dates, plus two remaining dates. Those extra dates can be two weekdays, one weekday, or two weekend dates.

The total is therefore twenty to twenty-two weekdays before holidays, not a universal twenty-two. For the September 6 to October 6 example, counting September 7 through October 6 gives twenty-two weekdays and eight weekend dates. A different starting weekday can change that split.

Adding thirty weekdays is another calculation entirely. From Sunday, September 6, 2026, thirty Monday-to-Friday dates ends on Friday, October 16, 2026. Holidays are still counted by this tool; it does not know your organization’s holiday or leave calendar.

Avoid Off-by-One Dates and Moving Targets

If today is day one of a thirty-date period, the final included date is only twenty-nine days away. By contrast, thirty days from today adds thirty dates after the start. Neither rule should be hidden in a label such as inclusive; write down whether the starting date counts.

For the fixed September 6 example, counting the start as day one ends on October 5 rather than October 6. This is a useful cross-check when two people obtain dates one day apart. They may be using different endpoint rules rather than different calendars.

A calendar-date result does not include a cutoff hour. If a milestone needs a specific time, such as the end of a workday, record that time and its zone separately. A date calculator also does not decide contractual, policy, or regional holiday rules.

Save the Result and Explore Other Intervals

For a real milestone, save the resulting date rather than just the interval length. Repeating a fresh calculation tomorrow moves the target forward; it does not count down to the target you saved today. Keep the original date if you want to monitor the remaining time.

Kepo offers Mac desktop widgets for repeated checks. The download link opens the app download page and does not automatically import this result or create a configured countdown. Keep a copy of the target date and counting rule when you explore a desktop workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does 30 days from today include weekends?

Yes. Calendar-day addition counts every date. Turn on Workdays only when you intentionally want thirty Monday-to-Friday dates; holidays are not automatically excluded.

Is 30 days from now the same date?

For a date-only task with the same starting date, yes. An exact elapsed-hour deadline needs its own time and time-zone rules.

Why does my answer differ by one day?

Check whether today is included as day one and whether the two devices show the same local date. Adding thirty days excludes the start; a thirty-date period including the start ends twenty-nine days later.

30 days from today is a fixed day-count calculation, not a synonym for next month.

Copy the starting date, target date, and counting rule together.
