Methodology & calculation rule
Complete Weeks = Counted Days ÷ 7 (Quotient); Remaining Days = Counted Days % 7
A week is defined strictly as 7 calendar dates. The count is independent of whether your printed calendar starts on Sunday or Monday.
Civil date intervals operate on calendar positions rather than continuous 24-hour physical increments, avoiding daylight-saving anomalies. Start dates are included by default while end dates are excluded unless explicitly toggled.
All computations run locally on your device in real-time. No dates, notes, or calculation histories are transmitted to any server.
Real-World Context & Technical Standards
Standard 40-Week Gestational Calendar
In clinical obstetrics, pregnancy duration is measured strictly in complete weeks and days from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP), dividing the 40-week term into three distinct gestational trimesters.
University Semester Academic Blocks
Most higher education institutions organize academic terms into 14-week or 15-week instructional blocks plus one final exam week, providing a consistent standard across fall and spring semesters.
FMLA Statutory 12-Week Leave Threshold
Under the US Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), eligible employees receive up to 12 workweeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per 12-month period for qualified family or medical reasons.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a week always contain seven days here?
Yes. The result groups counted calendar dates into blocks of seven. It does not measure working weeks or shift hours.
Are these ISO week numbers?
No. They are an elapsed duration in weeks and days, not ISO week-of-year labels.
Why does including the end date change the result?
Selecting Include end date adds one counted date before dividing the total into complete weeks and residual days.
