iPhone Duo Launch: Stock, Delivery Dates and How to Track Them From Your Mac
iPhone Duo goes on sale October 23 with limited walk-in stock, and Apple's delivery estimates sit in late January. Here is where things stand and a Mac widget setup for stock news, date changes and app updates.
Apple's first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, goes on sale on Friday, October 23, 2026, but most people will not get one that day. Online pre-orders, which opened on October 16, sold out quickly, Apple's own US and UK delivery estimates read January 22 as of October 21, and Apple Stores will have only "limited" units for walk-in customers.
So for the next few weeks, the job is watching: delivery dates moving, pickup slots opening, carrier dates shifting and apps catching up with the new screen. Put those checks one shortcut away on your Mac instead of reloading store pages all day.

Key solutions at a glance The main decisions from this guide, condensed into one table.
Where iPhone Duo stock stands before launch day
Apple told MacRumors on October 21 that it expects launch-day supply to sell out quickly after "extraordinary" pre-order demand. What that means by country:
| Where | Launch-day situation (per Apple's statement) |
|---|---|
| US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Singapore, Türkiye, and Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland | Limited walk-in units at Apple Stores |
| Italy | Walk-in supply at certain Apple Stores only |
| Macao | Walk-in on launch day only, limited inventory |
| Mainland China, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE | No walk-in sales; reserve an Apple Store pickup time slot online |
Apple's online store was telling shoppers to check back on Saturday, October 24 for pickup reservations, so it is not clear whether reservations open on launch day itself.
Walk-in stock is a launch-morning lottery. The more useful signals over the next weeks are delivery estimates that move and pickup slots that appear.
Delivery estimates: Apple vs carriers and retailers
If you order now, the retailer you choose matters more than the color. Tom's Guide tracks the US estimates by model; its October 21 update:
| Seller (US) | Estimated delivery, as of Oct 21 |
|---|---|
| Apple (unlocked) | Jan 22 for every color and storage size |
| AT&T | Dec 18 |
| Verizon | Dec 4 to Dec 18, depending on model |
| T-Mobile | Nov 25 to Jan 6, depending on model |
| Best Buy | Nov 10 for 512GB, Dec 14 for other sizes |
| Walmart | Out of stock |
Three more details from Tom's Guide's reporting are worth knowing:
- Dates move in both directions. Apple's estimates were January 25 a day earlier, and some buyers in the US and Japan have seen existing orders pulled forward by weeks, for example from January 25 to November 16–23.
- Carrier units are locked. The earlier AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile dates come with a carrier-locked phone; Apple is the main source of unlocked units for now.
- Two per order. Apple limits iPhone Duo pre-orders to two devices.
In the UK, Apple also shows January 22, and most networks and retailers quote January, a vague "more than 4 weeks", or no stock at all. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the US, which is why many buyers are shopping around rather than paying resellers.
What else changes in the next week
Stock is not the only moving part. Two software stories land right after launch:
- Apple Pencil arrives with iOS 27.2. Apple's page says the iPhone Duo works with Apple Pencil (USB-C) "later this year". The iOS 27.2 release candidate already enables it, and 9to5Mac expects the public release on or around Monday, October 26. Only the USB-C Pencil works.
- Third-party apps are catching up. In his review, Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) called apps the Duo's biggest downside at launch, naming Spotify, Google Maps, Discord, X and Google Calendar as not yet optimized. Until developers update them, some apps show black bars when the phone is closed and others run as a small iPhone-sized layout when it is open.
If you already have a Duo on the way, the app you rely on getting an update may matter more than the hardware.
Dates worth a countdown
| Date | What |
|---|---|
| Fri, Oct 23 | iPhone Duo launch, limited walk-in stock |
| Sat, Oct 24 | Apple's suggested day to check back for pickup reservations |
| Around Mon, Oct 26 | iOS 27.2 with Apple Pencil support expected (not announced by Apple) |
| Wed, Oct 28 | Apple's "Pro and tell" Mac event (see how to follow it) |
| Fri, Jan 22, 2027 | Apple's own delivery estimate for new orders, as of Oct 21 |
Why you cannot just pin Apple's buy page
The obvious move is to keep the Apple Store buy page open in a widget. It does not work. Apple's iPhone Duo buy page tells browsers never to show it inside another app's frame, and the order status page needs your Apple Account sign-in and only allows Apple's own site to frame it (both checked October 22, 2026). Kepo's web-view widget guide warns about this: sites that block embedding stay blank.
So split the job: use feeds and keyword watches for the news, a countdown for the dates, and a task to record your own order's estimate when you check it.
Set up an iPhone Duo tracker in Kepo
Kepo keeps small widgets in a floating panel you open with a global shortcut, over any app, including full-screen ones. Four widgets cover the launch and the wait. (For a general model-agnostic version, see the iPhone release tracker widget idea.)

1. iPhone Duo news feed
- Widget: RSS Reader, which reads one RSS or Atom feed.
- Feed URL:
https://9to5mac.com/guides/iphone-duo/feed/(9to5Mac's iPhone Duo guide, only Duo stories; returned launch and review posts on October 22). - What it shows: restock and walk-in reports, delivery-date changes, iOS 27.2 news and app updates, newest first. Prefer broader Apple news? Use
https://feeds.macrumors.com/MacRumors-Allinstead. One feed is enough.
2. Live reports on X
- Widget: X Keyword Watch from the X widgets.
- Keyword:
iPhone Duoon launch day; after that, something narrower such asDuo delivery. - What it shows: the latest posts from X's Live results for that keyword: store lines, "my date moved up" posts, sold-out reports. Sign in to X first for reliable results.
3. A countdown to your next date
- Widget: the Event Timer countdown.
- Setting: the countdown runs for a length of time from when you save it, so pick Day or Hour as the unit and enter the time left. Example: set it on October 22 for a January 22 delivery estimate and the value is
92days. Use Hour for the October 24 pickup check. - What it shows: the time left. It is a display only and sends no reminder, so reset it if your estimate changes.
4. Your own order's estimate
- Widget: Todo List.
- Setup: one task, for example
iPhone Duo order, with the current estimate as its due date. Each time you check your order status in the browser, add a step such asOct 22: Jan 22and update the due date if it moved. - What it shows: the current estimate at a glance, plus a short history of every change, which helps if you are deciding whether to switch to a carrier order.
Optional: a public stock page, built with AI
If a retailer or carrier shows ship dates on a public page that loads without sign-in, you can describe a widget for that one check, for example: "Show the estimated delivery date for iPhone Duo 512GB from this page, with the time it was last checked. Refresh every 30 minutes." Store pages change layout and some block automated reads, so compare the first result with the real page and keep it to one model. More on this in website widgets for Mac.
Reloading store pages vs one shortcut panel

| Store tabs and refreshing | Kepo panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Restock and walk-in news | Reload several news sites | One iPhone Duo feed, newest first |
| Delivery-date changes | Remember what the date was yesterday | Todo task with a dated history |
| Launch-day chatter | X tab you keep scrolling | Keyword widget, glance and close |
| Key dates | Work them out again | Countdown shows the time left |
| During work | Switch away from your app | One shortcut over the app, one to hide |
Keep the panel small. The feed and the order task answer most days; add the keyword watch on launch day and drop it once your phone ships.

FAQ
When does the iPhone Duo go on sale?
Friday, October 23, 2026, on apple.com, at Apple Stores and at select carriers and retailers. Pre-orders opened on October 16 and sold out quickly, so launch-day stock is limited.
Can I buy an iPhone Duo in an Apple Store on launch day?
In some countries, yes, while limited walk-in stock lasts. In mainland China, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the UAE, you need an online pickup reservation instead.
How long is the iPhone Duo delivery wait?
As of October 21, Apple quoted January 22 for new US and UK orders. US carriers and Best Buy showed earlier dates between November 10 and early January, depending on model. Estimates change daily, and some existing orders have moved earlier.
Can a Kepo widget alert me when the iPhone Duo is back in stock?
The widgets in this setup are for glancing: open the panel and see the newest news, posts and dates. They do not send notifications by themselves, and Apple's own buy and order pages cannot be shown inside a widget.
Get set up before Friday
Set it up once and it covers the launch and the wait: the iPhone Duo feed, one keyword watch, a countdown and your order task, all behind one shortcut. Download Kepo for your Apple silicon Mac and add the first widget in a few minutes.
