Use the Calculator
Enter the first and last dates in chronological order. Read the endpoint setting before using the count: September 7 to September 14 describes a seven-date interval when the end is excluded, not an eight-date inclusive period. A same-date interval contains zero dates until the end is explicitly included.
Select every weekday that is normally non-working for this calculation. Saturday and Sunday are selected initially. If your schedule has Friday and Saturday off, deselect Sunday and select Friday. You can leave all seven weekdays working, but cannot exclude every day and still ask for a working-week result.
Enter individual exclusions in YYYY-MM-DD format separated by spaces. These can be confirmed holidays, planned leave or office closures. The tool does not infer a region from your browser. An excluded date outside the interval has no effect; duplicate entries are counted once, and dates already excluded as weekends are not deducted twice.
Read all three counts together: working days, weekend dates and other exclusions. Copy the result with the selected date range and rule. If you change your schedule or holiday list, calculate again rather than treating an earlier number as current. A count of dates is not a count of hours or staff capacity.
How the Calculation Works
The method examines each calendar date in the selected interval. A date is counted as non-working when its weekday is excluded; otherwise it is checked against your individual exclusion list. Every remaining date contributes one working day. This explicit method handles custom weekends without assuming that every workweek has five days. It does not implement working-day addition, shift hours, partial days or rules that move a holiday to another date.
A Practical Walkthrough: Compare the Inputs and Counting Rules Before Saving the Result
Consider a team checking the dates from Monday, September 7, 2026 to the following Monday, September 14. With the default end-excluded rule, the interval contains seven dates: Monday through Sunday. Two are weekend dates, leaving five working dates. If the team enters September 9 as an exclusion, the result becomes four. Entering the same exclusion twice still removes only one date. Entering September 12, a Saturday already excluded by the weekend rule, does not remove an extra working date. Now include the ending Monday: the counted interval grows by one date and, unless that date is excluded separately, the working total grows by one too. This example separates three decisions that often get mixed together: which endpoints count, which weekdays are normally non-working and which individual dates are exceptions. A location-specific holiday calendar would be a fourth input, but it is not supplied automatically here. If your workplace uses a Sunday-through-Thursday week, change the non-working weekdays before reading the result. Copy the chosen weekend rule and exclusions with the total so a colleague can reproduce it. The number alone cannot explain why a particular date was removed.
Worked Reference Examples
| Input | Counting rule | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-07 → 2026-09-14 | End excluded; Sat/Sun off | 5 working days |
| Same interval | Also exclude 2026-09-09 | 4 working days |
| Same interval | End included; no extra exclusions | 6 working days |
| 2026-09-07 → 2026-09-07 | End included; Monday working | 1 working day |
Use these examples to verify the mode before entering your own values. Change one setting at a time so you can identify why the result changes. The examples are fixed demonstrations; they are not automatically updated personal data or recommended dates for your own task.
Important Boundaries
Obtain the relevant holiday and closure dates from the calendar your organization actually uses. A regional public holiday does not necessarily describe every employer’s schedule. This calculator cannot choose that policy for you.
Do not subtract a holiday again when it falls on a non-working weekday. The tool removes such overlap, but a hand calculation that subtracts weekends and then every holiday can undercount working dates. If your organization observes the holiday on another day, enter that observed date explicitly.
Working dates are useful for planning a small workflow or tracking an interval in a desktop note. They do not establish a contractual due date or determine a statutory deadline. Use the applicable official rule for those decisions.
Save a Result You Can Recheck
Keep the original inputs with the result. A bare number such as five, thirty or one hundred does not tell a later reader whether it represents dates, weekdays, minutes or complete anniversaries. The copy action records the selected calculation context, and it confirms success only after the browser accepts the clipboard operation.
Calculation fields stay on this device. Closing or refreshing the page is not a promise of persistent storage, and no account is needed to use the tool. If an input is incomplete or invalid, the component hides the previous numerical result and explains what needs changing. Do not use an old screenshot as a result for new inputs.
Kepo offers Mac desktop widgets for repeated checks and small personal workflows. You can explore those capabilities through the download page, but this calculator does not automatically transfer its inputs, save a reminder or generate a configured widget. Preserve the result yourself before moving to a desktop workflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are public holidays included automatically?
No. Enter the applicable holiday dates yourself. The tool applies only your chosen weekdays and exclusions.
Can I use a Friday–Saturday weekend?
Yes. Select Friday and Saturday as non-working and leave Sunday working. The result follows the selected weekdays.
Can it add ten business days to a starting date?
This page counts working days between dates. It does not add a working-day interval or calculate a deadline.
A useful result includes the inputs, unit and counting convention. Keep all three when you save or share it.

Age Calculator: Years, Months and Days
Choose a date of birth and a reference date to calculate completed calendar years, months and remaining days. The component also shows the next birthday under its stated month-end convention. It is a calendar calculation for personal use, not a legal age or eligibility determination.
Weeks Between Dates
Find the calendar-day difference between two dates, then divide by seven. The calculator displays complete weeks plus remaining days. By default the end date is excluded; including it adds one counted date before the week calculation.
Months Between Dates
Count completed calendar-month anniversaries from the starting date, then count the remaining days. When an anniversary day does not exist in the target month, this calculator uses that month’s last date. It does not divide every interval by thirty.
